What  about fleas?
We take every precaution to maintain a pest free environment....Should we find fleas on your dog,
he/she will be treated at your expense.

ANY type of topical prevention is washed away by any shampoo containing  detergent.  This is the
reason I have chosen to use only all natural products. Detergents are harsh on your dogs hair as well as
skin.

Hair must have a certain amount of oil in order to keep the hair and skin healthy.  This does NOT mean
that your dog is not clean.  It is clean, and at the same time all natural shampoos will aid in skin allergy
prevention!  Pharmaceuticals fail to tell consumers this information about using NON DETERGENT
shampoos in order to get you to purchase more of their product!  You wash your dog...your topical
preventative is gone.  Also contrary to popular belief the preventatives say they work  "up to 4 weeks".  I
am so amused by this play on words.  Notice...may work up to 4 weeks does NOT mean it is going to
work for 4 weeks.  If you speak with their customer reps they will tell you that in peak flea infestation
times you may have to apply your topical weekly!  Yes weekly!  But do not use it more than once weekly.
It can become toxic to your pet at that point.
Buyers BEWARE!
If you apply a topical preventative the day of your groom you are
wasting your time.
....unless you use non detergent products.  Your dog requires the
natural oils to hold the preventative.  These preventatives are highly expensive therefore I do not want
my "customer family" to throw that money away by putting it on their dogs the day of their groom.  If
you require further knowledge on this subject I will be more than happy to help educate you as this is
part of my job as a professional groomer to  keep my "customer family" informed.  Feel free to inquire as
I have done much research on this subject.

Why does it take so long to get my dog back?
Most pet stylists  use a rotating method when grooming.  What happens is...Groomers wait till most of the dogs
have showed up.  Then, they begin roughing them in (shaving pads of feet, trimming nails, shaving sanitary,
etc..)  After that, they are then taken to the tub for a massaging bath and then hand dried, after that they are
taken to their kennel so that another dog can be done.  When most of the baths are done, the groomer will then
go back to the first dog and begin the finish groom and then to the next dog.  This allows the groomer to
complete one groom after the next.  If we did one dog at a time from start to finish then we limit ourselves to
how many we could take in a day.  I also feel, that this is less stressful on the pet because he/she is able to rest
during the groom.

Why is my dog so scared when I take him to the grooming salon?
Your dog has discovered that the grooming salon is where he is separated from his beloved master.  He/she
may shake,  but this usually stops soon after you leave.  We do our very best to make your dog feel safe and
loved while he/she is here.

Will my dog be sedated?
NEVER!  We try very hard to get the groom done with love and patience.  If we can not do that,  then we will
suggest you take your dog to a Vet where he can be supervised while sedated.

Can I stay with my pet during grooming?
In certain cases I have let owners stay with the pet,  but 98% of the time....no.  You are the love of your dog's life
and seeing you sends them into a frenzy of excitement.  This can be dangerous when working with sharp tools,
such as scissors and clipper blades,  and is not safe.  If you should show up before we call you to let you know
that your dog is finished,  and we are in the middle of grooming him/her, should he/she become too excited, we
may be unable to finish the groom.

Does my dog need to be current on Vaccinations?
YES!  We take every precaution to maintain a clean and disease-free environment;  we do require the  Rabies

vaccination
.  We HIGHLY recommend Bordatella and Dhlpp.

Do I need to have an appointment?
Yes,  because we are appointment only, that allows us to give each dog the attention they deserve.
Appointments should be made at least a few days in advance.  If you must cancel, a call would be nice so that we
can fill that slot with someone who is waiting for a groom.  Depending on our scheduled days I am able to
"squeeze in" an extra appointment the day you call to get in.  This is not always the case so please try to call in
advance.

I want my dog short, but not shaved.  Shaving and clipping are the same thing to a groomer.  Blades come in
different lengths from 1/16" to 1/2"  and guards that go up to 2".  The better the condition of your pet's coat, the
longer the cut can be.

How often should I get my dog groomed?
If your dog has a longer coat, 2-4 weeks.  If you prefer shave downs, then 8 weeks.  The longer the coat, the
more often your dog should be groomed.

Do I need to get my dog groomed in the winter?
YES.  Some pet owners neglect to have their pets groomed in the winter.  It may be cold, but pets still need
proper grooming.  You may not want to cut the hair, but they still need to be bathed, nails trimmed, ears cleaned
and properly brushed to stay free of mats.  A matted dog is uncomfortable and it's unhealthy.

Why do you insist on shaving down my dog?
The only time I insist on shaving a dog down is when de-matting becomes painful for the pet.
HUMANITY before
VANITY.
